The client knew its market well. It needed a product that small businesses could use on their own, every week, without a marketing team behind them.
The challenge
Small businesses were posting when they remembered to, with ideas kept in notes and results checked platform by platform, if at all. The client wanted to sell them a single product that would suggest what to post, help them write it, publish it on time and show them what worked, at a price and level of complexity a small business would accept.
What we built
A subscription product, built from the ground up:
- Accounts and billing. Sign-up, plans, payments and team members, with each business's data kept separate.
- Business profile. A short setup that captures what the business does, who it serves and how it sounds.
- Weekly ideas. Agents suggest a week of post ideas from the profile, which the business can accept, edit or discard.
- Calendar and publishing. A shared calendar for drafting, approving and scheduling, publishing through each platform's official API.
- Weekly summary. A plain-language summary of what was published and how each post performed.
Agents never publish on their own: every post is approved by a person at the business before it is scheduled.
How we delivered
The Blueprint set out the plans, the platforms to support first and the approval rules. We built and released in stages: accounts, profile and calendar first, then publishing through each platform as its API access was approved, then weekly ideas and the summary. Every Friday the client saw a working build, and decisions about scope were agreed in writing as the product took shape.
What changed
The client has a product of its own to sell, with accounts, billing and publishing handled. Its customers get one weekly routine, from idea to published post to summary, in a single place instead of several tools.
